Where are all the superhero RPGs?

Given that we’re smack in the middle of a superhero golden age, where it seems like every single blockbuster movie and every TV show is based on a Marvel or DC property, I’m kind of wondering where all the supers RPGs are.

For the most part, I’m thinking about mid-to-upper-tier publishers — the indies seem to be making decent progress on this front, what with Masks, Worlds in Peril, and I suppose maybe Icons. But the only “high-profile” supers RPG I can think of that is still being printed is Mutants & Masterminds.

Yeah, HERO is still around, but I feel like it has its own, steadily dwindling fanbase, and I guess some folks use other generic systems for superhero action.

But! Where are the fancy-schmancy, take-my-money games with lavish produciton values from FFG or… uh, is there anyone else? I know WotC is all-in on D&D and nothing but D&D, so I’m not going to count them.

What am I missing?

I’ve been catching up on Supergirl season 2. I’m about half-way and just felt the need to mention that given various data points — Alex’s age, how many “earth birthdays” Kara has celebrated, and how long Jeremiah has been you-know-where — the timeline of the show doesn’t make any sense to me.

Not that this really impacts my enjoyment of the show, but it’s one of various details that nags at the back of my brain.

1) People who are better at self-control actually enjoy the activities some of us resist — like eating healthy, studying, or exercising.
2) People who are good at self-control have learned better habits

This jibes with my experience. E.g., I managed ton finally work out on a regular basis when I found a good, not-stressful time to do it, and found a kind of workout that was easy to implement and that I generally enjoyed.

tl;dr — 45 wants to privatize air traffic control, as part of net cuts to US infrastructure. #asshole #resist #impeach

So to “modernize” the system, the government would further entrench a concentrated airline system, paid for by passengers. If we know anything from the past several years of air travel, we know that concentration has sacrificed customer service and quality for profits. This proposal would leverage the air traffic control system to ensure that this worsening of the flying experience remains dominant. And the airlines wouldn’t really pay anything to acquire this public asset, which serves the appropriately governmental function of keeping the skies safe.
