Del Toro is not involved…
Thank goodness.
Hellboy is one of my favorite characters, and yes I think the movies were terrible, and no I don’t like Del Toro at all, so come at me bros.

Whatevs!! I liked both Hellboy movies. The second more than the first. I just hope in the reboot I don’t have to get another origin story.

Christ why do they do things like this? What next, re-make Labyrinth with Brad Pitt as the Goblin King?!!

IMO, Hellboy has never been well-represented in any media but the comics. The animated films were better than the Del Toro movies, but only by a bit.
And Ron Perlman is great, but I don’t consider his Hellboy all that definitive. David Harbour is a great cast idea.
Mark Delsing Ok, well I’ll give him a chance. Btw, what did you think of Pan’s Labyrinth?

I hope BPRD features somewhere in this one.
catty _big I thought it was a visually interesting film that didn’t really make any sense to me. This is pretty much my reaction to all the Del Toro I’ve seen.
Mark Delsing Yeah, take your point, it was pretty meaningless. Visuals are usually a big draw for me.

He kinda looks like Brett B a bit.
Love the comics, the animations and the movies. This looks like it could be great too.

I’ve liked pretty much all the Del Toro I’ve seen except Hellboy 2. 1 was ok. Not great but ok.
Renato Ramonda so well done!
Yeah, I love some film/narrative analysis… it’s just too easy to find pompous asses on Youtube so I normally don’t go around seeking it.
I have been pleasantly surprised in the past, though, by “Every Frame a Painting”, “Movies with Mikey” and some other series: there’s a lot of smart, insightful people that are really good at communicating out there… they’re just drowned in the storm of general internet assholery.
I love Del Toro, but thought the movies were only good, not great.
