When they went to the embedded series format (Elmo’s World, Burt and Ernie’s claymation adventures, Supergrover 2.0 etc), a lot of that new content lost the two-level writing that both appealed to kids and had invisible-to-kids jokes for the parents.
My recommendation is to try Peppa Pig. It’s not particularly educational, but its stories and humor will appeal to both you and your son.

There are so many very good kids shows on now. Unfortunately Sesame Street isn’t one of them any more.
We’re really enjoying Storybots on Netflix, but that’s for older kids than Henry.
