“Share one of your best ‘Worst Luck’ stories.”
In a recent BW campaign, we were using Spirit Binding as the sole magic system, but were also playing 3 LP characters, so pretty much every use of the skill was at least some level of disaster. It’s not a story pre se, but I think Michael Miller managed to burn down two separate buildings when binding hearth sprits went south.
Disaster, but also the wonders of failure in BW — something interesting always happens.
DW: In an attempt to I am the Law some soldiers coming at us the Paladin (played by Kasper Brohus Allerslev if I remember correctly) rolled a 6.
Another character stepped in to help with his roll and got a 6 as well.
So my character (the Captain of the airship Utini) stepped in to help that second character. Rolled a 6 as well.
The floating island was then attacked by an elemental lord of air.
Joe Banner ran that game.

Some of my finest hours.
The way BW works, i summoned the first spirit to set a fire to distract people so we could rescue sometime. Not only did I fail the control roll, allowing the spirit to burn the whole house, but the spirit became angry at me for attempting to bind it. It held that grudge until I contacted it again, looking for information. Then it wreaked its vengeance by burning down the temple of the spirit binders. BW is all about consequences.
Fun times.
D&D 5E, playing a fighter type, d12 weapon, rolled a 1 for damage the first three times I hit. Close to 1 out of 1500 odds, that.
Joe Beason You were distracted by the promise of a free fixer-upper castle.
I lived for the ten minutes each session when y”all indulged my obsession.
