  1. Paul Beakley I like what they’ve shared so far. It seems like they have taken RQ2, polished it up, added in some learnings from the decades that have passed since RQ2 came out, and juiced it with passion/trait bits form Pendragon.

It sorta reminds me a bit of 5e: a tight-but-trad core with some actually functional “story now” components.

But, it’ll still have hit points, so I dunno if that is a deal-killer for you. 🙂

  3. The thing I remember, probably from you Mark Delsing, is that the other bit of tech they’re lifting from Pendragon is that part of character generation is creating the deeds of your ancestors.

Which is cool. I mean, I liked the HeroQuest “create your village/clan history” angle — but it felt a bit abstract. Like, it was good to know where your people were coming from, but not as cool as knowing specifically “The Lunar assholes killed my father and fed my mother to the Crimson Bat at the battle of Boldhome.”

  5. Brand Robins Thanks for the reminder!

It’s trad, but it’s Stafford trad, which is like alt-universe-indie.

I’m psyched. The three-book thing makes it sound like it won’t be out as soon as I’d hoped, though.
