  1. We’re flying out for a wedding on Friday, planing to leave around 5 a.m. for our 9 a.m. flight. I’m just going to assume we’ll miss it and the wedding.

I’m mostly curious whose pockets are getting lined, and to what degree, that nobody in the government seems to give even the smallest shit about this.

  2. Mark Delsing Have you seen the tech that the TSA has installed in literally every major airport in the US? And I specifically remember at least two rounds of “upgrades.” That’s millions and millions of dollars going to somebody who lobbied hard on the “necessity” of their latest iteration of security theater props.

  4. Mark Delsing I assume that those making the decisions are unaffected by them: the congress persons have probably all paid the few hundred to bypass the security lines.

Which you, too, could do. Which is further evidence that airport screening is all about profiling, and has very little to do with the physical security (knives, gels, etc,) that they claim to be focused on.
