Finally got around to finishing season one of Killjoys
It’s old news at this point, but this show is great. What started out as a seemingly pedestrian attempt to capture the essence of Firefly in a mid-budget Canadian SyFy series turned into a well-written, well-plotted, action-packed political meditation populated by a great — and fairly diverse — cast. What I thought were just random bits of corporate-dystopian setting color slowly grew into, IMO, a well-woven fabric of intrigue, full of complex relationships and slick spacecraft.
Sure, it’s no Firefly, but what is? And, yeah, it’s obvious that a lot of the sets are just empty warehouses and Canadian fields, but I think the writing and performances suspend my disbelief enough not to really care. The fact is that this is solid adventure SF well-deserving of your time.

Really solid I hope it gets a budget increase next season.
Honestly I’m just happy that there will be a second season.
I think you can see my house in some episodes.
This and Dark Matter I like enough to pay for through iTunes.

Brand Robins Doesn’t SyFy film everything at your house? You know, were you, Alanis Morrisette, and Bruce McCulloch live?
I mostly joke, but I did sometimes walk past filming of Lost Girl at my old place.
If I don’t like Firefly will I like this?
I think you might Cam Banks
Turned off halfway through first episode but I was tired so
Cam Banks It definitely gets better with each episode (IMO), so if you can make it through two, you’d probably know for sure.
Still, it’s pretty Firefly-eqsue, so you maybe just won’t like it.
We should list some more really awesome things that Cam probably won’t like.
Freedom. Toilets that flush clockwise. Peppermint.
Ozzies.
Hugs. Kittens.
All true.
